Mrs Jo Guest

Headteacher

Mrs Guest brings a wealth of experience to Falmouth School, having dedicated over 23 years to the field of education, ten of which have been in senior or executive leadership including Headship and School Improvement. Within these roles, Mrs Guest has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering a positive, ambitious and inclusive learning environment.

Driven by a passion for holistic education, Mrs Guest believes in nurturing not just academic excellence but also personal growth and resilience in students. Mrs Guest’s vision for Falmouth School emphasises collaboration, innovation, and the importance of community engagement. Mrs Guest is committed to ensuring that every child feels valued and supported, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Inspired by The Roseland Trust’s values of Kindness, Ambition and Responsibility for everyone at Falmouth School: Her approach encourages professional development and continuous improvement among staff, creating a vibrant learning community.

Outside of school, Mrs Guest loves to be active, enjoying running, paddle-boarding and walking her two black labradors along the Cornish coastlines. Mrs Guest is a firm believer in the importance of work-life balance and encourages both staff and students to engage in activities that promote well-being.
With a clear vision for the future and a dedication to fostering a nurturing educational environment, Mrs Guest is committed to leading Falmouth School into a new era of success, ensuring that it is a place where every student can thrive academically and personally.

Mr J Price

Deputy Headteacher

Raised in the South West, Mr. Price is passionate about ensuring young people in Cornwall are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in all aspects of life. With extensive experience in both Cornwall and the South East, he has led whole-school improvements, focusing on both academic success and the holistic development of students. Specialising in medieval and early modern history, Mr. Price also oversees Curriculum, Communications, and Health & Safety at Falmouth School, always striving to create a positive, supportive environment for both students and staff.

Committed to staff well-being, he believes in fostering a balanced and inclusive culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to grow. Outside of school, Mr. Price enjoys playing the piano and maintaining classic cars, interests that reflect his belief in work-life balance and the importance of well-being.

Mr A Mitchell

Assistant Headteacher

Originally from the West Highlands, Mr Mitchell has taught in schools in London and Cornwall. He is committed to the idea of education as a force for good and believes we serve our young people best by ensuring they leave school with the knowledge and skills to achieve anything they want, alongside the kindness and compassion to share this with others. Mr Mitchell oversees Student Outcomes, Exams and Pupil Premium.

Mrs C Benney

Assistant Headteacher

Mrs Benney has lived within the community of Falmouth throughout her life, and considers herself to be incredibly fortunate to not only raise her young family in our wonderful town, but also to lead on Teaching and Learning at our school, enriching the learning opportunities and experiences for young people, whilst embedding a lifelong love of learning. Mrs Benney’s teaching subject is PE, and she oversees the Teaching and Learning, all CPD, staff induction, ITT and ECF.

Mrs R Penrose

SENCo

I have been dedicated to teaching in Cornish schools for over 26 years and am proud to be Cornish born and bred. My deep connections with the Falmouth community stem from my own school days and my time spent rowing on the water. As a Maths teacher and Assistant Head Teacher responsible for students with special educational needs and disabilities, my goal is to ensure every child is happy, included, and supported in becoming their best selves. I am truly committed to serving this community.

Mr Ben Christophers

Associate Assistant Headteacher

Mr Christophers has taught at Falmouth since he qualified as a teacher in 2015. In that time he has held the role of teacher, tutor, head of department and head of faculty. Born and raised locally, Mr Christophers believes wholeheartedly in the potential for every student at Falmouth to achieve their ambitions and the important role the school plays in the community. Mr Christophers leads on behaviour and also the humanities faculty.

In his spare time Mr Christophers enjoys travelling, swimming and playing the saxophone as well as a number of other instruments.

Mr James Worthington

Associate Assistant Headteacher

Mr James Worthington has built a diverse and extensive teaching career, starting in East London before moving on to teach in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Wight. With a background in Mechanical Engineering at degree level, he brings a unique perspective to his teaching of mathematics, inspiring students to engage. Currently leading the Sixth Form, Mr. Worthington is dedicated to guiding students through their final years of school, extending students school journey beyond their GCSEs.

Mrs Lauren Miller

Associate Assistant Headteacher

Mrs. Miller, a lifelong Cornwall resident and former student of Falmouth School and Sixth Form, returned to the school in September 2022, aiming to provide students with the same quality education she received. Now part of the Senior Leadership Team, she oversees Year 11, focusing on welfare, safeguarding, and student outcomes. Passionate about helping students reach their full potential, she constantly seeks innovative ways to enhance their school experience. Though her expertise is in English, she's also a fitness enthusiast, often found in the school gym or running around Pendennis Point.
