INDUSTRY BASED OPPORTUNITIES
Vocational Courses and Work Experience
Falmouth Sixth Form currently offer courses in the following areas: catering and hospitality, engineering and childcare.
Many vocational courses require students to undertake industry based work placements. These are arranged in partnership with college staff. Work placements take usually take place one day per week and operate throughout the year alongside the college course. Some of these courses run for up to 3 days a week in sixth form and 1 to 2 days per week on placement.
All Year 12 students are encouraged to secure a one week work placement within industry to support exploration of potential career pathways post-college and higher education. This experience is invaluable for both students considering moving directly into industry or those considering higher education routes. This experience is essential when preparing personal statements for universities and job applications.
Should students wish to progress to an apprenticeship following a post-16 course, school staff are here to support students with their applications.
