This statement outlines Falmouth School and Sixth Form’s arrangements for managing the access of education and training providers to students for the purpose of providing information about their offer. It sets out our commitment to ensuring that all students have access to a broad and balanced careers programme, in line with the Provider Access Legislation (PAL) and the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Student Entitlement
All students in Years 8-13 at Falmouth School and Sixth Form are entitled to:
-
Find out about technical education qualifications and apprenticeships as part of a broad and balanced careers programme.
-
Hear from a range of local and national providers about the opportunities they offer, including technical education, apprenticeships, and higher education pathways.
-
Understand how to apply for academic and technical courses, including apprenticeships and T Levels.
Opportunities for Access
A number of events integrated into our careers programme will offer providers an opportunity to speak to students and/or parents. These may include:
-
Assemblies and careers talks
-
Careers fairs and employer engagement events
-
Curriculum-linked employer encounters
-
Workplace visits and virtual employer interactions
-
Apprenticeship and further education presentations
Management of Provider Access Requests
Providers wishing to request access should contact:
James Worthington
Careers Leader
Email: jworthington@falmouthschool.net
James Worthington is supported by Ben Christophers, SLT link for Careers.
Requests should be made with as much notice as possible and will be considered based on:
-
The needs of the students
-
The timing of the request to fit within the existing careers programme
-
Availability of school staff and facilities to support the session
We will make a suitable space available and any necessary equipment to facilitate a provider’s presentation.
Safeguarding
All providers must comply with Falmouth School’s safeguarding policies. Visiting providers will be required to provide identification upon arrival and may need to provide further safeguarding documentation, depending on the nature of the engagement.
Monitoring and Review
This statement will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains compliant with statutory requirements and continues to support high-quality careers education.
