Public Sector Equality Duty

Falmouth School promotes equal treatment for all, irrespective of race, colour, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, political belief, disability, age, gender or marital status.

As public bodies, academies and further education institutions must comply with the public sector equality duty in the Equality Act 2010 and the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) Regulations 2011. This means that we:

  • publish details of how our school complies with the public sector equality duty and we update this every year
  • publish our school’s equality objectives, which we update at least once every four years

Our equality policy and equality objectives include details of how we are:

  • eliminating discrimination (see the Equality Act 2010)
  • improving equality of opportunity for people with protected characteristics
  • consulting and involving those affected by inequality in the decisions we take to promote equality and eliminate discrimination (affected people could include parents, pupils, staff and members of the local community)
Please see below for further information on equality and equality objectives at Falmouth School.
